Bibliography
Writing by Brent O'Mara
Every published piece, grouped by platform, with a reference entry that retells only what the piece says and links the original.
Brent O’Mara writes about planning for business owners and families on Medium, on his Blogger blog and on his WordPress site, and this bibliography keeps one reference entry for every piece he has published there. Each entry retells only what the piece says, attributed to the author, gives its date and platform, and links the original.
The site keeps those entries because general financial education has a measurable audience and a measurable effect. A 2025 national poll by the National Endowment for Financial Education found that 70 percent of adults who had never taken a personal finance course believed their quality of life would be better if they had, and counted 30 states with graduation requirements in the subject signed or pending.1 An evaluation of the endowment’s High School Financial Planning Program found that financial education raised teenagers’ confidence, knowledge and skills, and that students carried money conversations home to family and friends.2 Nebraska marks the subject on its own calendar: in 2025 the governor proclaimed April Financial Awareness Month at a ceremony attended by elementary students from the state’s in school saving program.3 A reference entry per piece lets a reader find the original, see when and where it appeared, and move from it into the encyclopedia entries on the same subject.
